Emerald Green Arborvitae – 5 Gallon Pot

Hands down one of our favorite of the upright Thuja, Emerald Green Arborvitae is a narrow, upright evergreen conifer featuring especially attractive dark emerald green foliage. It is absolutely low-maintenance, requiring no pruning to keep its narrow pyramidal form. At only 3 to 4 feet wide and 12 to 15 feet tall, Emerald Green is an excellent selection for use in tight spaces or to frame corners in home foundation plantings or as an evergreen privacy screen or tall hedge in situations where space is limited. Also nice in pots and an excellent for use and decorating as an outdoor Christmas tree. Cold hardy to -20F and does great in the heat in our Georgia USDA Zone 8 gardens. 

Suggested Spacing:  3 feet apart for solid privacy screen or hedges;  6 feet or more apart for space between plants

Arborvitae are very easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil of average fertility, including clay soil, in full sun to light shade. For best performance we suggest a minimum of 7 hours direct sunlight. Constantly soggy or wet soils can be problematic. Maintenance is minimal; very little if any pruning ever required.
